The Golden Valley Tree Park is the largest arboretum in WA, stretching across a massive 60 hectares. The park is open daily and managed by the Department of Environment and Conservation, and it’s set to be formally classified as a reserve. It holds over 3000 trees, from over 1000 species, some of which are still around from the original planting over a hundred years ago.
Not only does the park look ace in autumn, on May 6 you can enjoy a guided walk through all the beautiful orange leaves, led by Dr. Chrissy Sharpe. For any other autumn visits, the park is full of walks, or you can take along a picnic, grab a table and just do some leaf watching while you relax.

Moidart, Bowral, NSW
Five acres of rare plant varieties become even more amazing in autumn, and you’ll be able to see some trees here you won’t see anywhere else.
Built-in the early 1930s by Mr. James Burns, who’s family still manages it today. Due to the unique landscape in the Southern Highlands, before they could plant the trees the owners needed to dig holes and throw dynamite into them to break up the shale which sits just under the surface. It was obviously successful because the trees are still thriving today.
